Liberal Democrats Online: e-policy overview

Introduction to Policy

Liberal Democrats Online has been set up to fulfil two basic aims:

  1. To help the Liberal Democrats make the best use of information and telecommunications technology in their campaigning activities.
  2. To help the Party develop its policy towards information and telecommunications technology and related issues.

This section of the web site deals with the second of these aims.

Make IT Policy

Our primary contribution to IT policy formation has happened via the establishment of http://www.makeitpolicy.org.uk - the Make IT Policy website.

This was the first online policy forum used as part of a formal policy development policy in the UK.

Other policy areas

In order to help people who are interested in using the internet to guide policy thinking in any area, we have collected together useful links to relevant policy resources:

Amongst other areas, you can read about our policy motion passed on the RIP act at the Autumn 2000 Liberal Democrat conference.
