Here are all the online campaigning groups we've found to date on internet

UK campaign groups
- Stand
- An informal group campaigning for safe e-commerce legislation. Not just
helpful to get a steer on the latest e-commerce related issues - also an
excellent example of an e-campaigning site.
- Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure
- FFII supports the development of public information goods based on copyright, free competition, open standards. Currently campaigning against EU plans to introduce excessive software patents.
- Foundation for Information Policy Research
- An independent body that studies the interaction between information technology
and society.
- HumanITy
- HumanITy was established in 1997 to draw attention to the problem of social exclusion caused by the increased use of information technology.
- Cyber-rights and cyber-liberties
(UK)
- An independent body to promote free speech and privacy on the Internet
and raise public awareness of these important issues.
- Privacy International
- Human rights group formed in 1990 as a watchdog on surveillance by governments
and corporations.
- Professional Contractors Group
- Group was formed to oppose the IR35 tax proposals, which seek to equate
the gross fee charged for a consultant's time with the consultant's salary.
US/Global Campaign groups
- Democracies Online
- "Promoting online civic participation and democracy efforts around
the world through information exchange, experience sharing, outreach, and
education". Very provocative ideas on how the internet can increase
political participation - and an excellent mailing list.
- Electronic Frontier Foundation
- A non-partisan US organization working to protect fundamental civil liberties,
including privacy and freedom of expression in the arena of computers and
the Internet. Large archive of useful information.
- Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC)
- Excellent resource for understanding privacy issues. Established in 1994
to focus public attention on emerging civil liberties issues and to protect
privacy, the US First Amendment, and constitutional values.
- Center for Democracy and Technology
- With expertise in law, technology, and policy, CDT seeks practical solutions
to enhance free expression and privacy in global communications technologies.
- Global Internet Liberty Campaign
- Advocates a classic liberal approach to the internet: against censorship,
discrimination - in favour of privacy, encryption and the involvement of
people from developing economies in defining future internet infrastructure.
